This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the Third International Conference on Advances in Information Security and Its Applications, ISA 2009, held in Seoul, Korea, in June 2009. The 41 revised full papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 137 submissions. The papers are organized in topical sections on cryptographic algorithms, authentication and identity management, authorization and access control, biometrics and computer forensics, cryptographic protocols, data integrity and privacy, key management and recovery, mobile and RFID network security, firewall, IDs, anti-virus, and other security products, internet and web services security, cyber-attack and cyber-terrorism, other security research, together with the articles from the workshops MoWiN 2009, NASSUE 2009, IAWSN 2009, WNGS 2009 & CGMS 2009, SHCI-ISA 2009.
Welcome to the Third International Conference on Information Security and Ass- ance (ISA 2009). ISA 2009 was the most comprehensive conference focused on the various aspects of advances in information security and assurance. The concept of security and assurance is emerging rapidly as an exciting new paradigm to provide reliable and safe life services. Our conference provides a chance for academic and industry professionals to discuss recent progress in the area of communication and networking including modeling, simulation and novel applications associated with the utilization and acceptance of computing devices and systems. ISA 2009 was a succ- sor of the First International Workshop on Information Assurance in Networks (IAN 2007, Jeju-island, Korea, December, 2007), and the Second International Conference on Information Security and Assurance (ISA 2008, Busan, Korea, April 2008). The goal of this conference is to bring together researchers from academia and industry as well as practitioners to share ideas, problems and solutions relating to the multifaceted aspects of information technology. ISA 2009 contained research papers submitted by researchers from all over the world. In order to guarantee high-quality proceedings, we put extensive effort into reviewing the papers. All submissions were peer reviewed by at least three Program Committee members as well as external reviewers. As the quality of the submissions was quite high, it was extremely difficult to select the papers for oral presentation and publication in the proceedings of the conference.
"This book provides a valuable resource by addressing the most pressing issues facing cyber-security from both a national and global perspective"--Provided by publisher.
The dual goal of the "Handbook in Information Systems" is to provide a reference for the diversity of research in the field by scholars from many disciplines, as well as to stimulate new research. This volume, focusing on Information Assurance, Security and Privacy Services, consists of six sections. In the first part contributors discuss Program Security, Data Security and Authentication, while the second section covers Internet Scourges and Web Security. Parts two and three concentrate on Usable Security and Human-Centric Aspects, along with Security, Privacy and Access Control whereas the final sections of the book examine Economic Aspects of Security, and Threat Modeling, Intrusion and Response.
This book constitutes the refereed joint proceedings of four co-located international conferences, concertedly held in Miyazaki, Japan, in June 2010. The papers in this volume were selected based on their scores obtained from the independent reviewing processes at particular conferences, and their relevance to the idea of constructing hybrid solution to address the real-world challenges of IT. It provides a chance for academic and industry professionals to catch up on recent progress in the related areas. The 49 revised full papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected during two rounds of reviewing and improvement from more than 1000 initial submissions. The papers emanate from the four following international conferences: Information Security and Assurance (ISA 2010), Advanced Communication and Networking (ACN 2010), Advanced Science and Technology (AST 2010), and Ubiquitous Computing and Multimedia Applications (UCMA 2010). This volume focuses on various aspects of advance
Economics of Information Security applies economics not to generate breakthroughs in theoretical economics, but rather breakthroughs in understanding the problems of security. Security, privacy and trusted computing are examined distinctly, using the tools of economics, and as elements of a larger dynamic system. Economics of Information Security is designed for researchers and managers struggling to understand the risks in organizations dependent on secure networks. This book is also suitable for students in computer science, policy and management.
